Financial Aid
Many students choose to take out a loan to pay for all or part of the costs associated with attending an MBA program.
Loan programs available to MBA students include:
- Federally sponsored (Stafford) loans – for U.S. citizens only
- Alternative private loans – for U.S. and international students
- MBA LOANS program (sponsored by Sallie Mae and the Graduate Management Admissions Council)
All offer low interest loans repayable upon completion of your degree.
Eligibility for need-based grants, loans and scholarships is determined by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form available on line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Many funds are limited, so those students who have their FAFSA completed by March 1 each academic year receive priority processing.
Applicants must have been admitted to the MBA program before The University of Arizona Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA) will make financial aid awards. Graduate students must be enrolled at least halftime in order to receive federal loans.
The Eller MBA program does not manage the Financial Aid (loan) process but rather works with the OSFA. We have a dedicated Program Coordinator in the OSFA who handles all MBA applications. For more information contact the OSFA.
Scholarships
For full-time MBA students only.
The Eller MBA program offers a number of merit-based scholarships to both U.S. and international students. A fourth optional essay as part of the application is required in order to be considered for these scholarships. Award decisions are made during the application review process and recipients are notified at the time of admission.
Among the merit-based scholarships available are:
- The Burgess-Winter Scholarship (U.S. students only)
- The Robert Wright Short Scholarship
- The Thomas R. Brown Distinguished Scholarship
- The Larry Lawrence Scholarship (U.S. students only)
- The Eller MBA Scholarships
The Eller MBA program is also sponsored by The University of Arizona's Peace Corps Fellowship program. Please contact Georgia Ehlers for more information. Peace Corp Fellowship recipients are not excluded from consideration for an Eller scholarship.
Graduate Assistantships
For full-time MBA students only.
Assistantships provide part-time employment in teaching and/or research, and include a waiver of non-resident tuition (if needed), a waiver for health insurance, and partial payment of in-state tuition. Both U.S. and international students are eligible for merit-based assistantships, which are awarded at the time of application.
