Dan Tarico, MBA '07“The program has helped me solidify my skills and has allowed me to consider a broad range of possibilities which fit my abilities and objectives.” On the Eller experience: The first year was quite intense, and the great majority of my professors were truly excellent. I was also impressed by the diversity and sophistication of my classmates. I am the first Eller MBA student to take advantage of our exchange agreement with Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile (Santiago de Chile). I am pleased that I have had so much flexibility in designing my learning experience and the career to which it will lead. On Eller faculty and curriculum: Amongst many outstanding courses, the business communications class will likely prove to be the single most valuable. I expected this going in - great ideas aren't worth much if you can't communicate their value to others. Professors Fishback, Bates, Bens, Permut, and Sauers stand out. The BIQ during the first semester was quite challenging. Sometimes we made fools of ourselves. But, this is how we learn. Between this and the case competitions, we have learned how to "stand and deliver." This is no trivial ability – sooner or later, it will be absolutely critical. On the Eller staff: During the mock interviews, Bob Rieger taught me a hard lesson in how to NOT interview. It was good that I learned then, instead of later. In my opinion, Bob has gone way beyond his call of duty in making himself available to students and being willing to assist them. He really is an asset to the Office of Career Development and to the Eller program. On his career: When I entered Eller, I was primarily focused on entrepreneurial business, since this comprised the majority of my work experience. The program has helped me solidify my skills and has allowed me to consider a broad range of possibilities which fit my abilities and objectives.
