Sandra Chang, MBA '08“I especially enjoy communicating and collaborating with people from different countries. It really inspires more new and surprising ideas.” On choosing Eller: Because I plan to continue my career in the technical industry, the high ranking of Eller’s MIS and entrepreneurship programs really attracted me. Moreover, the diverse curriculum offers me more learning choices. I can easily find any specific class for which I want to register. On the Eller experience: Although it was hard for me as an international student to adjust the new environment in the beginning, I really enjoy studying in the program. I especially enjoy communicating and collaborating with people from different countries. It really inspires more new and surprising ideas. On the Eller curriculum: Because I only had a little management knowledge before entering the program, every class is valuable to me. To help international students overcome the obstacle of English, the Eller MBA program also offers us a supplemental English class and helps us improve our writing and oral communication skills. On the Eller community: People in Eller are so nice. Every faculty member is available to assist students in solving problems. We also have good facilities, including the computer lab and graduate lounge. Moreover, we can easily get any information among departments. On her career goals: Although I have seven years of engineering experience in the power industry, I still feel that my engineering training has not prepared me adequately to deal with the broad strategic questions faced by senior-level managers. To be a good technical manager in the future, I want to learn more in management science. By combining my technical background and the managerial output from Eller, I expect to be a leader.
