President and Founder, The Solar Store
B.S. Chemical Engineering; M.S. Nuclear and Energy Engineering

"I’m planning to expand The Solar Store concept. Since our success today has been based on technical know-how, I think it’s imperative to gain our own business knowledge before expanding operations."

Katharine holds a B.S. in chemical engineering and an M.S. in nuclear and energy engineering. She has worked for several private firms as well as for The University of Arizona Environmental Research Lab. In 1995 Katharine was named the Society of Women Engineers’ Distinguished New Engineer. She is also a recipient of the Department of Energy's Energy Innovation Award for her work on passive cooling strategies for desert climates. In 1998, Katharine launched The Solar Store, offering and installing solar energy technologies to commercial and residential customers in Southern Arizona and Southwestern New Mexico.

Location

Classes are held at the Eller College's Scottsdale campus with accommodations at a local hotel in Scottsdale, Arizona. Both are conveniently accessible to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.
