Dual-Degree Program Structures

The sequential-study dual-degree program pairs your MBA with a graduate degree in medicine, law, pharmacy, finance, MIS, planning, public health or international management, allowing you to gain a significant competitive advantage as you reenter the job market.

Tuition and fees vary by program. Each semester, you will pay fees to one college — the college in which you are taking the majority of that semester's classes (your "resident" program for that semester).

The following dual-degree programs are available:

MBA/Master of Public Health

The MBA/MPH Dual Degree Program is offered jointly by the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health and Eller College of Management.

The dual degree program allows a student to earn a Master of Public Health (MPH) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in three years upon the completion of a minimum of 75-79 units in Public Health and Business.

MBA/Master of Planning (MS PLG)

The new MBA/ MS Planning degree is now available for students interested in business and development, green building, land and resource use and regional planning. Interested candidates can start their first year in either the MBA or MS Planning program but do need to be admitted to both programs independently.

When pursuing the dual degree, students earn both degrees in three years where if completed separately, most students would finish in four years. Review the Planning Degree Program site for more specifics about their courses, instructors and specialties.

MBA/Master of Accounting (MAcc)

The proposed MBA/MAcc dual degree program allows both MBA students to apply to the MAcc program after completing their first year.   With proper planning a student can receive both degrees in five academic semesters or two and one half years of full time study.

Upon completion, the dual degree student will have completed 37 credits of accounting courses, which combined with other coursework in the MBA/MAcc  dual degree will qualify students to become licensed as a CPA in Arizona.  Note that students must meet all other requirements to become licensed as a CPA including but not limited to passing the uniform CPA exam.

MBA/Master of Science in MIS

If you are seeking an edge in the technology field you can complete an Eller MBA and a MS in MIS. You will need to gain acceptance to each program separately.

Students begin classes in the Fall semester with MBA core curriculum or the MS MIS core. Regardless of the program a student starts first, the student must complete one full year (two consecutive semesters) of that program before starting the next. The total units required for completion of the Dual Degree Program is 71 and takes about 2-3 years of full-time study to complete. Students must complete the MBA core courses (except for MIS 585) and choose electives from each program. For the MS MIS degree, the courses depend on the track being pursued. Please contact Mona Lopez for more information or visit the Master of Management in MIS department website.

MBA/MD

In five years, you can complete the Eller MBA and an MD from the College of Medicine. You must apply separately to each program.

MBA/JD

In four years, you can complete the Eller MBA and a JD from the highly-ranked James E. Rogers College of Law. You must apply separately to each program.

MBA/Master of International Management

If you are seeking a more in-depth international dimension to your MBA education, you can complete the MBA/MIM degree in three years (less if you meet the foreign language requirement). You must apply separately to the Eller MBA and to Thunderbird School of Global Management. After completing core MBA requirements at Eller, you will transfer to Thunderbird for your final year.

MBA/Master of Science in Management and Finance (MMF)

The dual MBA/MMF program allows MBA students wishing to work in finance to obtain the additional credential of the MMF and convey to employers the depth of their financial knowledge both in finance as an important management process and in financial analysis as a specialized area of expertise. The dual degree requires completion of all MMF required coursework for the chosen track, with an additional 12 credit hours above the MBA requirements and six of credit hours for the completion of the MMF master's project. For more information, please contact Kay Ross, Finance Department Program Coordinator.

MBA/Doctor of Pharmacy

If you are interested in this five-year program, you will apply to the Eller MBA in the second year of your Pharm.D. studies. You’ll spend your third year completing MBA core courses. Remaining courses for both degrees are interwoven throughout years four and five.
