Edward Dyl

Sheafe/Neill/Estes Professor of Finance
Department of Finance

Edward Dyl is the Sheafe/Neill/Estes Professor of Finance. He received his BA in economics from Claremont McKenna College and his MBA and Ph.D. degrees in finance from Stanford University. Ed joined the faculty at The University of Arizona in 1987 and served as head of the Department of Finance here from 1987 to 1998.

Before coming to Arizona, Ed was a faculty member at the University of Texas in Austin, the University of San Francisco, and the University of Wyoming. He served as Dean of the Business School at Wyoming from 1979 to 1984. He is active in the profession, and served as President of the Western Finance Association in 1982-1983 and as President of the Financial Management Association in 1986-1987.

Ed has a broad range of research and consulting interests. He has published over 70 articles in a wide range of scholarly and practitioner journals, including the Journal of Finance, the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, the Journal of Business, Financial Management, and the Financial Analysts Journal. He currently teaches three courses in the MBA Program: Fin. 512 Advanced Corporate Finance; Fin. 560 Real Property Investments; and Fin. 561 Real Estate Development.
