Sandy Klasa
Assistant Professor
Department of Finance
Sandy Klasa joined the Department of Finance at The University of Arizona in 2002 as an Assistant Professor of Finance. He received his Ph.D. in Finance in 2002 from the University of Oregon. Prior to teaching at The University of Arizona, he taught undergraduate corporate finance classes for four years at the University of Oregon.
His areas of expertise include corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, capital structure, corporate governance, and entrepreneurial finance. He has published in leading journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, and the Journal of Accounting and Economics. Much of his recent research focuses on the overlap between corporate finance and industrial organization. For instance, he has studied how competition between firms affects corporate cash holding and debt levels and corporate disclosure decisions.
Professor Klasa currently teaches FIN 480 and FIN 536, the undergraduate and MBA level entrepreneurial finance classes. He also teaches a doctoral seminar class in corporate finance.
