Meet Eller MBAs
Eller MBA '10
Why did you choose the Eller MBA?
What caught my eye was Eller's top ten ranking in the entrepreneurship and MIS tracks, respectively. That coupled with the overall program rigor, faculty expertise, and value for money helped in making a decision. Having lived and worked in Southern Africa for several years, Tucson's climate also played a role in my decision to apply here.
What stands out about the Eller faculty and curriculum?
While Eller faculty and staff take the MBA program very seriously, they are very approachable and maintain an open door policy regarding questions or concerns from candidates. The coursework is demanding and requires that you reach well outside of your comfort zone. In short, the courses challenge preconceptions of how leaders make business decisions. The students in my cohort are very committed, helpful, and brilliant. Their respective levels of knowledge and experience are humbling.
What is your personal takeaway with the Eller MBA?
The Eller MBA program is a strong point of leverage for those pioneering 21st century business concepts in emerging markets. My personal takeaway is the critical thinking and broader perspective essential in effective decision-making. This bodes well given my leadership role in a country endowed with seemingly unlimited human and natural resources. How this is leveraged and managed will be greatly influenced by my Eller experience.
